Must have at least 10 years of UK experience, estimating and knowing how buildings are constructed in the UK.

If you have run your own company, pricing, worked for companys doing this, or just been on the tools for a long time, you can use computers with ease, (not just get by). This could be for you; we need someone to bring the company up to the 21st century. Im looking for someone to make / design, or tell me what software to buy, or bring in your own.

we are a building company based in Ross-on-Wye with building sites in Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, and Monmouthshire.

About the role:

Miles Construct is looking to hire a Construction Estimator to join the team in preparing and submitting quotations for clients across a range of projects ·

From new builds and extensions, barn conversions, and renovations, to maintenance. We get a range of plans through, some with very little information to go on, to fully detailed plans

Basically , make it up, but you need to know how to do this.

Some jobs are small maintenance works, fixing a few tiles on the roof, to Renovation of a house. Barn conversions, Newbuilds, conservation projects. We price everything, and no job is missed,

You will need to have a lot of experience in the building trade in the UK to price our works, with experience in pricing building works varied. You will need to know how structures are built are made up from groundwork to completion. Ie some you will need to basically build/ design yourself and tell the client how we propose to build it, in written detail·

The successful applicant will also need to personally have contact with the clients until the contract is agreed. Follow up, amend quotes to the needs, ETC. you need a lot of patience in the process, being very customer-friendly.

I just need someone to modernize the way prices are done, (Quicker and more accurately - with takeoff lists available to our project manager.

If you have basic computer skills this job isn't for you. Advanced computer skills are essential.

· Key responsibilities:

· · Researching the cost of items such as materials, transport, labour and equipment.

· · Obtaining quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame.

· · Assessing the risk levels associated with a project.

· · Preparing and submitting quotations and details of costs for work to be done.

· · Preparing tenders for existing clients and new contracts.

· · Monitoring the costs at the different stages of a project to ensure it stays within the estimated budget.

If you make money for the company, we are happy to give you a bonus. This will be discussed at performance reviews.

· About you:

· The successful candidate must also have a good understanding of current CDM Health and Safety requirements, modern methods of construction, and contractual awareness.

Experience in a similar role will have provided you with the knowledge and expertise to succeed in this role. You will be a confident individual who is able to communicate effectively and efficiently with supplies, contractors, existing clients, and new contracts.
