School as a Part-Time School Caretaker/Cleaner

Location: Kingswood School, Shirley, B90 2TA

Hours: Part-time – 20 hours per week, Monday to Thursday & Friday

Salary: £15.00 per hour (Term Time only, fixed term 12 month to begin)

Position Overview

We're currently looking for a reliable and hands-on Part-Time School Caretaker/Cleaner to join our team at Kingswood School. This is an important role where you'll help ensure the school grounds are secure, safe, clean and functional each day.

Key Responsibilities

• Locking the school premises at 5.30pm
• Conducting routine checks to maintain site safety and security
• Carrying out maintenance and repair tasks (e.g. basic DIY, unclogging drains, replacing door handles, painting etc)
• General cleaning duties - mopping, vacuuming hallway/classrooms, polishing, dusting, cleaning toilets, emptying general and recycling bins.
• Reporting any significant issues or hazards to the management team
• Supporting a safe and functional learning environment for students and staff

What We're Looking For

• Must be able to pass a DBS criminal record check
• Successful reference check required
• A valid UK Driving Licence is preferred due to location
• Practical, dependable, and comfortable working independently
• Basic maintenance or DIY experience is essential

Pay: From £15.00 per hour

We break up on 12th December, we have interviews to conduct, then the Enhanced DBS check, likely to be a January start /1/26
