Receptionist & Bookkeeper – Widemouth Manor Restaurant

Location: Widemouth Bay, Bude

Position: Full-time / Part-time (to be discussed)

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Widemouth Manor Restaurant is a busy coastal venue renowned for its stunning views, warm hospitality, and exceptional food. We are looking for a motivated and highly organised Receptionist & Bookkeeper to join our friendly team and play a key role in both our front-of-house operations and administrative management.

About the Role

This varied position combines guest-facing reception duties with bookkeeping and administrative responsibilities. You will be the first point of contact for our guests and customers, while also supporting the management team with financial administration, event coordination, and bookings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist guests in a friendly, professional manner, handling enquiries via phone, email, and in person.
  • Manage restaurant, room and event bookings efficiently and accurately.
  • Support management with event planning and coordination.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, process invoices, and assist with payroll and daily cash reconciliation.
  • Perform invoice and statement reconciliation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Use accounting software and general office applications to manage day-to-day administrative tasks.
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with the management team on a daily basis to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure excellent communication between front-of-house, kitchen, and management teams.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Proactive, motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Proficiency in standard software packages (Microsoft Office, email systems, booking platforms).
  • Bookkeeping or accounting qualification (AAT or equivalent) required.
  • Experience with invoice/statement reconciliation and financial record-keeping.
  • Previous hospitality or events experience preferred but not essential.
