Job Title: Project Governance Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Governance Manager to join our team. This role plays a critical oversight function in ensuring that projects are delivered correctly, according to standards, and are likely to meet objectives.

The successful candidate will act as an independent reviewer and advisor to ensure that projects remain on track and within governance.

This is a full-time position with a hybrid working contract, requiring occasional office attendance for team meetings and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring projects align with strategic goals and have the best chance of successful implementation.
  • Developing and maintaining the Annual Health Assessment/Assurance Plan.
  • Delivering portfolio, programme, and project health assessments/assurance.
  • Recording and tracking improvement areas identified during assessment/assurance.
  • Identifying improvement trends across the portfolio and designing new ways of working.
  • Understanding project contributions to strategic goals and enterprise risks.
  • Providing guidance to project teams throughout project health assessments and delivery of improvement activities.
  • Reporting individual health checks.
  • Enabling programme and portfolio reporting that rolls up from project health checks.
  • Ensuring projects are in the best possible state before progression.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will require proven experience in a project assurance/project auditing role and experience working as a Project Manager or extensive knowledge of the project environment.

You will also possess excellent knowledge of the Microsoft suite (Excel, SharePoint, etc.) and be passionate about data-driven decision making.

A strong ability to influence and manage stakeholder expectations is essential, along with the capacity to work effectively in a team and communicate complex information accurately.
