As part of our rapid expansion, we're looking for a skilled, attentive Compliance Officer to join the team in our office in Altrincham, Greater Manchester.

Your role as our new FCA Compliance Officer will centre around helping Valid8 continue to grow and innovate whilst retaining full legal and regulatory compliance in regards to consumer duty, data control, and regulatory accountability. 

What We're Looking For

As our new Compliance Officer, you'll be tasked with:

1. FCA Regulatory Compliance

• Ensuring all communications, contracts, promotions and partner arrangements comply with FCA requirements (including COBS, CONC, SYSC) and financial promotions rules.
• Reviewing, approving and documenting any promotional or regulated communications, ensuring alignment with the firm's permissions and regulatory status.
• Maintaining audit-ready records, approvals and oversight for regulated product/service communications.
• Supporting oversight of any appointed representatives, third-party licence holders or partner firms operating under Valid8's regulatory permissions.

2. Licensing & Operations Oversight

• Ensuring the firm maintains appropriate regulatory permissions, licence conditions and notifications to the FCA.
• Overseeing relationships with external compliance/legal partners, ensuring all obligations are met.
• Monitoring the impact of regulatory changes on Valid8's business model, recommending adjustments as required.
• Supporting operational teams to ensure their activities are aligned with the regulated framework, data protection and consumer-facing obligations.

3. Governance, Risk & Compliance Frameworks

• Developing, maintaining and enforcing internal compliance policies, covering financial promotions, data service communications, partner oversight and licensing governance.
• Conducting risk assessments, compliance monitoring, remediation planning and reporting to senior management.
• Delivering training sessions to compliance, operations and partner teams on regulatory obligations, consumer protection and data governance.
• Liaising with external audits, regulatory queries or complaints processes as needed.

4. Data & Communication Compliance

• Supporting the data services business unit to ensure communications remain fully compliant with data protection regulations, FCA obligations and internal policy.
• Reviewing service-claim statements to ensure they are fair, clear and not misleading on our website,
  
• Maintaining oversight of our partner-facing and consumer-facing channels, ensuring integrity and transparency.

Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

• A degree in Law, Compliance, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a compliance role within an FCA-regulated firm, ideally with exposure to operations/co-ordination of regulated services rather than purely marketing.
• A thorough understanding of the:
• FCA Handbook (COBS, CONC, SYSC)
• Financial promotions and regulatory approvals
• Data protection (UK GDPR), AML/KYC, open-banking frameworks
• Proven ability to work across operations, data services and compliance teams, translating regulatory requirements into operational controls.
• Excellent organisational, analytical, communication skills, with strong document management, audit trail maintenance and stakeholder engagement.

Experience working within data services or fintech, as well as familiarity with open-banking, credit referencing, and digital service compliance are very welcome.

What We Can Offer You

• Salary £45,000 - £55,000 (dependant on experience)
