In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring the well-being of our animals, providing exceptional care to rabbits and rodents, including feeding, cleaning and breeding responsibilities in a production facility.
We'll support your training and development to learn new skills and experiences which will allow you to both progress in your role, and also to your next role. You'll have the opportunity to continue to progress your career as far as you want to. Our Team Leaders, Supervisors and Operations teams once started their careers as Animal Care Technicians.

About you:
You have a genuine interest in animal development and breeding, and you're comfortable handling and holding rabbits or rodents.
You either have a qualification in animal care (or similar), or previous experience working in an animal related environment (handling and caring for animals).
Attention to detail is key in this role as you'll be keeping accurate records of breeding, feeding, cleaning and animal care activities. You'll also coordinate order details, including selection, packaging, ensuring accuracy at all times.
You're a great team player, you're flexible to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis and are happy to work overtime if it's needed.
Location/Benefits:
This is a full-time, 12 month fixed term contract (with the potential to be made permanent), based at our Hillcrest site in Belton, just outside of Loughborough.
As an Animal Technician, there are a range of hours you'll work across, these are all based on the areas you'll work in. Some of our teams start at 05:00, and some of our teams finish at 17:00. We try to be as flexible as possible to accommodate your needs – we do however all finish by 14:00 on Fridays.
- A starting salary of £25,982 (or more with experience).

Due to the nature of this role, candidates cannot have pet rodents (mice, rats or guinea-pigs) or rabbits for biosecurity reasons. Please make us aware if you have animals that feed on rodents (snakes, birds).
Candidates must be able to drive due to limited public transport.
