We are seeking a dedicated Optical Assistant to join our professional team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them throughout their visit, ensuring a positive experience
- Take precise measurements of patients' eyes using specialised equipment
- Assist in selecting suitable frames and lenses, providing expert advice on options and styles
- Prepare and maintain optical equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper calibration
- Support the optometrists during eye examinations by preparing necessary tools and materials
- Manage patient records accurately, including updating personal details and treatment notes
- Maintain stock levels of optical supplies and organise displays in the retail area
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently, including infection control procedures
Experience
- Previous laboratory experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of anatomy related to the eye will be considered an advantage
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail are essential
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members
- A proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
