Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, manage food production, and contribute to menu development within a high-end hospitality environment. The Junior Sous Chef will support the Sous & Head Chef in maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and service excellence.
Duties
- Assist in supervising daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards.
- Oversee food preparation and presentation to meet quality specifications and customer expectations.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, stock rotation, and minimizing waste.
- Lead and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on culinary excellence.
- Participate in menu planning and development, incorporating innovative dishes and seasonal ingredients.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen.
- Coordinate with catering and banquet departments to execute large-scale events seamlessly.
- Oversee shift management, including scheduling staff and managing labor costs.
- Monitor food handling procedures to uphold hygiene standards and prevent contamination.
- Support restaurant management in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction through quality food service.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fine dining establishments.
- Supervising or team management experience within a culinary setting is highly desirable.
- Strong background in food production, menu planning, and kitchen management.
- Knowledge of inventory management, control procedures, and food safety protocols.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff members.
- Culinary experience in the food industry with a focus on hospitality or restaurant management.
- Familiarity with dietary department standards and catering services is advantageous.
- Skills in food handling, preparation, cooking techniques, and food service management.
- Experience in managing shift operations within a fast-paced environment is preferred.
