Purpose of Role:


•    Market analysis and forecasting for natural gas, LNG, NGLs and crude

Critical Responsibilities:


•    Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures

Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:


•    Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy's Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:


•    Market price monitoring, analysis and commentary for natural gas, LNG, NGLs and crude (with a focus on European Gas)

•    Build supply and demand models to perform fundamental analysis of commodities markets

•    Monitor and report on markets activity including trade flows, trading behaviour and regulatory developments - communicate daily changes in natural gas fundamentals with traders

•    Produce regular and ad-hoc analysis as required - spot trends, identify emerging trends early and, where possible, anticipate market movements

•    Develop robust databases, products and models to underpin processes and analytics

•    Capture internal data and perform analysis on evolution of production forecasts versus actuals

•    Harness available data for analysis and perform qualitative review of the same

Critical Skills:


•    Relevant degree qualified professional

•    Strong experience working in commodity markets analysis 

•    In-depth understanding of global gas markets (with a focus on Europe) and a good understanding of global commodity markets

•    Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with an ability to communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and present ideas and data in a clear, concise manner

•    Commodities analytics experience – including the ability to scope data architecture solutions and develop interrogation tools

•    Programming skills for modelling (e.g. Python), or ability to scope the same as well as in-depth experience in excel, database development and PowerBI or equivalent dashboarding experience

•    Strong attention to detail, highly analytical and advanced problem-solving skills

•    Resilient under pressure and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
