Your role and responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Network Inspector, you'll play a key role in keeping Suffolk's roads safe and moving. Your mission? Work with utility companies and other contractors to reduce disruption for road users, improve safety, and protect the integrity of our highways.
You'll inspect works on the highway under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and Traffic Management Act 2004, making sure everything meets the required standards—and taking action when it doesn't.
Collaboration is key: you'll work closely with the Network Co-ordinator to plan and coordinate works, ensuring minimal inconvenience to the public. In this impartial role, you'll treat all activities—whether from Suffolk Highways, public utilities, or private contractors—with fairness and consistency.

- a good understanding of highways and street works legislation
