Fabric Sourcing Assistant

Mode Search are collaborating with a leading global fashion design and manufacturing partner in their search for a Fabric Sourcing Assistant.
This is an exciting opportunity for an organised, proactive individual with a passion for textiles to join a fast-paced sourcing team. The role offers hands-on experience working with suppliers, fabrics, and internal design teams within a creative and commercially driven environment.
Based full-time in the company's London HQ, this position plays a key role in supporting the sourcing and development of materials for multiple fashion clients.
The Role:
- Communicate regularly with fabric suppliers to request samples, quotations, and production updates
- Organise, label, and manage fabric swatches, cuttings, and sample storage areas
- Assist with unpacking, sorting, and tracking incoming fabric shipments and requests
- Maintain accurate sourcing records and sample tracking spreadsheets
- Support with cost comparisons and basic fabric pricing analysis
- Prepare and send swatch cuttings to internal teams and clients as required
- Collaborate with design, production, and sales teams to ensure all fabric options meet aesthetic, quality, and performance standards
Requirements:
- Strong interest in textiles, materials, and the end-to-end sourcing process
- Prior experience or education in textiles, fabric technology, or a related fashion field preferred
- Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
- Clear communication skills for supplier and internal correspondence
- Comfortable with hands-on physical work (e.g., unpacking and sorting samples)
- Analytical mindset with confidence working with numbers and data comparisons
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
