The Role
As an Analyst you will sit in a high-growth Agricultural Trading team within an organisation rapidly expanding its presence across global markets. This role offers a rare opportunity to work directly with senior traders from day one, help build the team's analytical and research foundation and over time potentially grow into a risk-taking seat as the department requires. The ideal person would have a significant internship or up to two years' experience within a commercial or quantitative-led role ideally in the commodity sector.

Key Responsibilities Include:
This role is built for a resourceful individual eager to take ownership of both daily support and long-term automation projects. Your focus will be on:

  • Automation & Development: Design and implement streamlined workflows and data pipelines using your preferred tool (Excel, Python, etc.). This includes automating the aggregation of fundamental market data (supply/demand stats) and developing tools to identify market dislocations
  • Analytical Infrastructure: Contribute to the development and maintenance of research infrastructure, back testing frameworks, and analytical models used for trade selection and opportunity discovery
  • Core Trading Support: Provide essential daily support to senior traders by performing pre-market system checks, maintaining accurate fundamental databases, and reconciling daily portfolio positions. You will learn the discretionary investment process firsthand

Requirements
Experience:
Fresh university graduate with an internship up to 1-2 years' of relevant industry experience.

Skills:

  • A proven ability and passion for automation and leveraging data analysis to solve complex problems.
  • Strong Excel modelling skills are essential; some experience with Python is a bonus
  • Strong quantitative and analytical reasoning skills
  • Proactive communicator, easily able to disperse complex information into digestible formats to a range of stakeholders

Attitude:
Exceptional enthusiasm for developing deep expertise in global Agricultural markets (derivatives and physical) and a proactive, diligent work ethic to handle a demanding, fast-paced workload.
