Senior Specialist Physiotherapist

Due to maternity leave, there is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic paediatric musculoskeletal physiotherapy team. We are seeking a keen and motivated individual with a passion for managing a wide range of paediatric musculoskeletal presentation. The post holder will be jointly responsible for leading the team, supporting band 6 and band 3 colleagues. They will have a sound understanding of normal child development and common musculoskeletal conditions that affect children and young people.
This post-holder will be required to provide independent assessment and treatment for children with musculoskeletal presentations from GP and tertiary referrals. They will also support rotational team members as well as working with physiotherapy assistants within the team. Strong multi-disciplinary working will be essential as well as excellent communication skills to work with children and families with complex needs. Prioritisation of referrals, and managing a caseload within a busy, dynamic clinic will be required. You will be expected to work closely and effectively with colleagues in general paediatrics, orthopaedics, spinal surgery, paediatric rheumatology and chronic pain, with support from clinical specialist physiotherapists in these areas. There will be opportunities to lead hydrotherapy sessions and groups sessions. There will be an expectation to supervise undergraduate physiotherapy students, and opportunities to receive and provide teaching within the physiotherapy team, and wider multi-disciplinary team.

To provide leadership working in Outpatients by delivering a high standard physiotherapy service to paediatric musculo-skeletal outpatients within the Paediatric Team at the Evelina London Children's Hospital, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The post will be working with patients to provide assessment, treatment & advice in paediatric musculo-skeletal care, including orthopaedic anomalies, paediatric neurodevelopment and neurological assessment in the outpatient setting. This post will include hydrotherapy, group exercise classes and close working with inpatient therapists and consultant surgeons amongst the MDT.
