Our client, a successful tech scale-up, cash generative SME, with a £10m turnover and employing 80 staff, is looking to double in size in the next five years under the guidance of its experienced, highly charismatic and driven CEO, supported by a first-class senior leadership team. Their platform combines personalised technology with individualised coaching to deliver cutting edge support for nutrition and habit-forming, sustainable lifestyle changes. Developing on an existing product portfolio, they now seek a New Product Development Lead Protein and Supplements - to take ownership of the development and launch of new products from concept to shelf.

You will research market trends, create formulations, work with ingredient suppliers, ensure compliance with industry regulations and collaborate with Marketing and Operations to bring new ideas to life.

As New Product Development Lead, You Will
Research industry trends, consumer demand and competitor activity to identify new product opportunities

Develop and refine formulations for protein powders, supplements and related products

Work closely with suppliers, manufacturers and laboratories on samples, testing and scale-up

Produce and maintain accurate product specifications

Carry out product testing with the team, relevant stakeholders and the wider market

Ensure products meet all relevant regulations, including labelling, claims and quality standards

Project manage the development timeline from concept to commercial launch

Collaborate with Marketing to position and launch products effectively

Monitor product performance and seek continuous improvements

Work with Production to ensure adequate stock levels

As New Product Development Lead, You Will Need
A degree in Food Science, Nutrition or Chemistry

Experience of product development within food, sports nutrition or supplements

Knowledge of food regulations, labelling laws and supplement compliance

Strong project management and organisational skills

Excellent communication skills to deal with internal and external stakeholders

A creative, problem-solving mindset with a passion for innovation in Health & Wellbeing

Understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and the commercial implications of new products
