Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals in care homes and home care settings. Duties
- Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support the implementation of individualised care plans tailored to each person's needs
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions
- Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and their families regarding care needs and progress
- Assist with light domestic tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment
- Support clients in attending appointments or engaging in social activities outside the home if required
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Experience
- Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar role within a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
- Driving licence is advantageous for roles involving client transportation or home visits
- Familiarity with care plans and documentation processes is beneficial
- Good command of English, both written and spoken, is essential for effective communication
- Basic IT skills are required for maintaining electronic records and updating care documentation
- Excellent communication skills are necessary to build trust and rapport with clients and team members
