Movers Transport has been trading since 1985, progressing from small beginnings to becoming a full national and international domestic and commercial removal company. WE ARE CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR A FULL-TIME 3.5 TONNE DRIVER

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Long distance driving and some nights away (when required)

· Removal of goods

· Heavy lifting

· Manual handling

· Carrying out packing, wrapping, dismantling and re-assembly of furniture regarding the household or office removal

· Loading and unloading all types of furniture and goods carefully, and delivering without causing damage

· To take responsibility and ensure that the van is kept tidy and clean

· To ensure that all paperwork is filled in by the customer and handed to the driver

· Desire to progress to a Class 2 HGV Driver (preferred)

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

· Removals: 1 year (preferred, but not required as full training can be offered)

· Driving: 1 year (required)

· Driving a large Luton van (preferred)

· Be physically fit and able to lift and carry heavy and delicate furniture with care, often up or down flights of stairs

· Handyman skills (preferred)

· Good temperament and customer service skills

· Must be able to keep excellent time

· Must be able to work under pressure and within a team

LICENSE/CERTIFICATES

· Clean Driving license required – no points or prior convictions

SCHEDULE

· Day Shift

· Night shift/Overnight stay

· Overtime

· Occasional weekend availability

PAY AND BENEFITS

· Basic pay of £28,080 per year, plus overtime at a higher rate

· HGV training can be discussed after probationary period, leading to a further pay increase

· 21 days holiday + all statutory bank holidays
