Job descriptionWe are looking for Project Support Officers to support and work with the Project Managers to deliver a range of projects across the portfolio and ensure that all relevant information and data is collected in a timely manner.
Become a member of the PSO Team that delivers the PSO Service to the Portfolio Delivery Team, reporting to the Programme Support Officer, and you will be assigned to work on multiple projects.
Your responsibilities will include, but aren't limited to:
- Provide support to the Project Manager, the project team and the project partners in order to deliver the project.
- Coordinate Project Boards, workshops, reviews and other meetings.
- Ensure that information is recorded, stored and kept up-to-date, in accordance with the Agency PPM standards.
- Support the production and maintenance of project plans.
- Support the production of progress reports.
- Support the recording and resolution of risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies and decisions.
- Act and engage with honesty and integrity, and upholding the reputation of the Agency, the Department, and the Civil Service.
- Work in collaboration with colleagues across all functions for the good of DVSA and to build an impactful and well-respected Agency.

Person specificationRequired experience:
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:
- Committed to providing good service and displaying a pro-active approach to ensuring that tasks are
completed in time and relevant parties are kept informed. - An ability to collect and communicate information effectively to a wide variety of people using
various methods/tools. - A willingness to work as a member of a team of project support officers that provide a key service to
IT projects. - A willingness to work closely with project managers to deliver IT projects and learn the skills needed
to do this effectively.
The successful candidate will also need to have a willingness to work toward APM Project Fundamentals.
Additional Information
This role is suitable for hybrid working, which is a non-contractual arrangement where a combination of workplace and home-based working can be accommodated subject to business requirements.
The expectation at present is a minimum of 60% of your working time a month will be spent at either your designated workplace (one of the locations cited in the advert) or, when required for business reasons, in another office/work location/visiting stakeholders. Your designated workplace will be your contractual place of work. There may be occasions where you are required to attend above the minimum expectation.
Overnight stays may be required at other DVSA sites.
