Job Title: Internal Sales Development Executive

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role requires a high volume of outbound phone calls each day, proactively engaging with customers, following up on enquiries, and identifying new business opportunities. You will provide excellent customer service and account management support within the waste division, maintaining strong relationships with existing customers and ensuring service satisfaction. A key part of the role is identifying opportunities to enhance value through additional waste and environmental services, while also growing and developing existing customer accounts and generating new business. This is a fast-paced, office-based position that requires strong communication skills and excellent organisation.

JOB PARTICULARS:

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00am -5.00pm, including ½ hour lunch break unpaid (Contracted hours - 45 hours per week)

Holiday Entitlement: 31 days (Incl. Public Holidays & 3 days compulsory Christmas shut down). All holiday dates to be agreed with the Commercial Manager.

Reportable to: Commercial Manager

Location: Canford Recycling Facility, Arena Way, Magna Road, Wimborne, BH21 3BW

KEY JOB ELEMENTS:

  • Manage a portfolio of existing accounts, providing customised solutions ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction.

· Handle daily client requests and manage expectations professionally.

  • Building your own pipeline of new business opportunities to support company growth.

  • Drive account development through upselling and cross-selling waste and environmental services.

  • Ensure new customers are competitively and profitably priced, credit checked, and correctly set up on internal systems prior to service commencement.

  • Support with price reviews and renewals.

  • Maintain awareness of competitor activity and market changes within the waste industry.

  • Collaborate effectively with operations, transport, and compliance teams to ensure smooth service delivery.

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, customers, and colleagues.

  • Work under the direction of the Commercial Manager and Senior Management Team to achieve departmental objectives.

  • Carry out any other reasonable duties within your capability to meet the needs of the business.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a customer service, sales, or account management role.

  • Knowledge of waste management, recycling, or environmental services is advantageous.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to build rapport and influence others both internally and externally.

  • Previous experience in a commercial/sales role.

  • Good understanding of waste processing and recycling operations.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Ability to influence others both internally and externally to achieve objectives.

  • Enthusiastic and committed person capable of working with others, a good team player.

  • Capable of operating IT systems including MS Office word processing, MS Outlook emails Excel, and internal database software system.

· Confident in making a high volume of outbound calls daily.

· Strong follow-up skills to manage ongoing enquiries and convert opportunities.

· Skilled at identifying customer needs and spotting opportunities during calls.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £30,000.00 per year
