Junior Account Executive

Job Description

We are on the lookout for an ambitious, hardworking PR professional to join our small but mighty consumer PR agency working on a 5* hotel client, two epic food festivals and the UK's largest winter event. We have a hybrid working model between Brighton, London (for client meetings and events) and home.

Outline of Job

The job of a Junior Account Executive could be described as the engine room of every agency. At the beginning of your career, you'll be multitasking daily, learning how things work, contributing to the success of client teams, and being relied upon by your team for the accurate communication of information, research and reports. A major part of the role is being able to generate positive media and social media coverage for your clients and in doing so, building and nurturing relationships with key journalists and influential people and suppliers.

Responsibilities

· Team support – support teams and take direction where necessary

· Media lists – keeping lists up to date, creating new ones where relevant

· Client support – support on any client work where necessary

· Event support – attend and support at relevant events

· Generating media coverage – a big part of the role

· Building and nurturing relationships – with journalists, social media influencers, suppliers and clients.

· Writing – support with writing press materials

· Understanding the media landscape – be a regular consumer of news and lifestyle titles to build an understanding of trends, competitor coverage and to spot opportunities

· Social media – you'll need an acute sense of culture, trends and "what's-hot" across social media channels, be able to talk about them, leverage them and share interesting content with team and clients

· Reporting – you'll be required to make sure reports are created, signed-off and sent in a timely manner

· Research – for ideas, features, new business pitches and content

· Coverage tracking – saving, organizing and presenting coverage as required

· Idea generation – you'll be expected to contribute to brainstorms, planning meetings and general press office function

Skills Required

· A prior understanding of consumer PR – what it is and what we do

· Prior experience in PR / comms desirable

· Excellent communication skills

· Proficient in writing, editing, and proofreading

· Able to handle pressure

· Able to work as part of a team

· Be a self-starter and able to work on your own initiative

· Have a 'sleeves rolled up' approach

· Show a passion for media, brands and creativity

· Show professionalism

· Creative thinking and initiative

· Keep up to date with current affairs

· Analytical skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £24,420.00-£28,000.00 per year
