About us

Perton Manor is a 50 bedded Nursing Home on the outskirts of Wolverhampton, delivering care to people living with dementia and other complex mental health needs.

We are looking for a full time Receptionist who is capable of working under pressure in a busy environment with changing priorities.

Please Note we do not offer sponsorship.

Duties to include:

· Call handling – Screening and transferring calls to the appropriate department and efficiently relaying messages where necessary.

· Greeting relatives, external professionals and all other visitors to the home, communicating to appropriate people that they have arrived/escorting to appropriate area of home.

· To undertake secretarial/administrative duties for the Home Manager as required.

· Electronic filing and summarisation of documentation from the Care and Nursing Teams.

· Manual filing of hard copy documentation, to be kept in the Home Manager's office.

· Obtaining client information and arranging in the required order, as and when required for reviews, investigations etc.

· Archiving documentation as instructed by Home Manager/Clinical Lead Nurse.

· Assisting with inputting of clinical administration or other general administrative duties such as general typing etc, during quiet periods.

· Compiling monthly stationery requirements for the home and reporting back to Finance & Admin Manager.

· Handling daily post, signing for and distributing as required.

· Updating client bedstate weekly.

· Ensuring Reception area is kept clear of obstructions and in an orderly state.

· Ensuring outside access to the home, such as the car park, is kept clear in case of emergency.

· Recording minutes during meetings.

· Ensuring staff and relative contact details are kept up-to-date.

· Organising transport for client appointments, as instructed by Management.

· Preparation of Care Plan templates for expected new clients.

· Some light money handling may be required, but will be minimal.

Required Personal attributes:

Previous experience within a similar role is desirable, but is not necessarily essential, providing you are able to meet the below requirements.

· Professional telephone etiquette, excellent communication skills and empathetic demeanour, must be demonstrated at all times.

· Understanding of GDPR and its importance within the role.

· Ability to use Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook.

· Ability to operate electronic devices such as the switch phone system, scanner, photocopier, franking machine etc (training will be given).

· Must be able to multitask, demonstrating good time management, with ability to problem solve and adapt to a workload with changing priorities.

· Attention to detail is essential to the role, particularly in written work (proof reading).

· Must be able to work autonomously, using initiative.

· Professional, punctual, friendly and well presented.
