Financial & Management Accountant - 9 Month Fixed Term

Location:
Leicester or Northampton

Salary:
£35,000 per annum (pro rata)

We're seeking a Financial & Management Accountant to join our Finance team on a 9-month fixed term contract.
Project experience is highly valued
- this role offers significant involvement in key financial transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Focus

  • Lead implementation of Accounts Payable Project (Chrome River AP solution)
  • Develop and build financial dashboards in Katchr
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Finance operations
  • Support various finance transformation projects

Management Accounting:

  • Produce monthly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts
  • Lead month-end reporting including fixed assets, prepayments, and accruals
  • Conduct WIP reviews with fee earners and set chargeable targets
  • Support annual budgetary process and provide decision-making insights

Financial Accounting:

  • Manage purchase and nominal ledgers
  • Prepare VAT returns and tax analysis
  • Oversee partner payments/drawings
  • Coordinate audit preparation and act as auditor liaison

Team Management:

  • Line manage purchase ledger and accounts assistants
  • Support payroll processes and bonus calculations
  • Review P11Ds

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and finance regulations
  • Team management experience
  • Financial project experience highly desirable
  • Analytical mindset with continuous improvement focus
  • Ability to provide strategic financial insights

Accounting qualification desirable but not essential
- we welcome part-qualified or qualified by experience candidates.
