We're working on behalf of a fantastic specialist setting that provides education, outreach and intervention services to young people in Gloucestershire. The school look after a range of needs but are primarily focused around students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH). 

We have recently placed a couple of teachers at the school who are thoroughly enjoying their time there, making real impact on these young people's lives. They have a few different sites across Gloucester so you will be expected to move around between the sites (driving is a preference but not essential). 

The role

The role of SEMH Teaching Assistant is varied, providing general 1-1 support across KS3 classes and the teachers. You don't need to be a subject specialist but ideally you would hold a GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths & English and be able to support across a range of subjects.

Enjoying 1-1 support is essential as the support you will be providing is mostly in small group settings - this really gives you the opportunity to build real relationships with the students. Due to the needs of the students it is desirable to have worked with SEMH students before, ideally in a school setting. This is a long-term position.
