Connect to your Industry
EMEA Centre for Regulatory Strategy (ECRS) is a source of expertise for clients and Deloitte practitioners on the direction of regulatory change across the financial services industry and its implications for firms' business models and strategies. The ECRS produces distinctive thought leadership, developing an early warning capability to identify emerging regulatory and supervisory issues and assess their business impact. The ECRS identifies commercial regulatory-driven opportunities and offers targeted commercial support, working with practitioners across EMEA, helping colleagues to differentiate our regulatory offering in client proposals, shape and deliver client propositions.
We are hiring a senior manager to lead the ECRS capital markets regulation team. Working in the ECRS you will be expected to shape our capital markets agenda, have an unparalleled opportunity to develop strategic thinking, and apply your knowledge of international, European and national capital markets regulation. You will work with colleagues across Deloitte, including senior stakeholders, and a wide range of client to provide insight on capital markets regulation, support client propositions and other commercial initiatives.
We encourage consideration of flexible ways of working, both formal and informal arrangements that allow for the best outcomes for our people and our clients. If this opportunity is of interest to you with some flexibility, please do discuss with us.
Connect to your career at Deloitte
Deloitte drives progress. Using our vast range of expertise, we help our clients' become leaders wherever they choose to compete. To do this, we invest in outstanding people. We build teams of future thinkers, with diverse talents and backgrounds, and empower them all to reach for and achieve more.
What brings us all together at Deloitte? It's how we approach the thousands of decisions we make every day. How we behave, our beliefs and our attitudes. In other words: our values. Whatever we do, wherever we are in the world, we lead the way, serve with integrity, take care of each other, foster inclusion, and collaborate for measurable impact. These five shared values lead every decision we make and action we take, guiding us to deliver impact how and where it matters most.
Connect to your opportunity
As a Senior Manager, you will own and drive thought leadership for the capital markets regulatory portfolio, contribute to shaping and delivery of client propositions and support other commercial ECRS initiatives. This includes:
- maintaining an overview of regulatory developments in capital markets in the UK and at EU level, including through tracking new policy initiatives, identifying the most significant emerging topics and developing expertise in them;
- working with ECRS colleagues and Deloitte subject matter experts from other teams to determine the strategic and operational impact of new and emerging capital markets regulation;
- developing a multi-channel distinctive thought leadership material (including publications, tailored client briefings, events and webinars) to package and publish your insights and research in an accessible and engaging manner, tailoring the messages to a range of different audiences;
- leverage deep regulatory knowledge and experience to help clients navigate complex regulations and challenging regulatory issues;
- supporting client project delivery by integrating regulatory expertise in delivery teams across project lifecycle or providing targeted SME support where relevant;
- working closely and effectively with the ECRS leadership team and senior stakeholders across Deloitte's EMEA network and beyond, and maintaining a regular dialogue with regulators, policymakers and industry associations;
- managing your and your direct report's time to deliver work within agreed deadlines;
- ensuring the quality of outputs meets the ECRS and broader Deloitte standards; and
- contributing to cross-team initiatives, to enable Deloitte to "join the dots" across multiple regulatory initiatives and market developments.
Connect to your skills and professional experience
The scope of the ECRS is broad. Candidates are expected to be able to demonstrate how their areas of existing expertise or interest in capital markets will contribute to the ability of the ECRS to deliver on its remit.
