About Lawhive

Our mission is to make the law accessible to everyone.

The legal industry is built on technology and processes that haven't been updated in hundreds of years - that's why we've reinvented the entire model from the ground up with our own bespoke AI operating system at the core.

Lawhive is a regulated law firm with an AI-native platform built to amplify expertise and revolutionise the way people practice law, leading to exceptional outcomes for clients and lawyers.

Lawhive Labs is how we bring this vision to life. It's our frontier lab that combines top engineering, design, AI and legal talent from around the world, joining forces to build the future of law.

We're backed by top-tier investors, including Google Ventures, Balderton Capital and TQ Ventures, and in December 2024, we secured $40M Series A funding round to facilitate international expansion and to grow our team, representing one of the five largest Series A rounds in Europe for 2024.

We're headquartered in London and in 2025 successfully launched in the US…and we're just getting started.

The Role

The Chief of Staff acts as the CEO's core partner in ensuring the organisation runs with clarity, discipline and focus. The role centres on building a rigorous understanding of business performance, designing the reporting systems that track it and ensuring the CEO, Exco and Board always have an accurate view of what is happening in the company.

You will work with functional leaders to define the right metrics, ensure they are reported consistently and surface where the organisation is underperforming. You will bring structure to complex information, translate data into strategic insight and support high quality internal and external reporting.

This is a high trust role for someone who thrives in fast moving, data driven environments and who can combine strategic thinking with strong operational discipline.

Business Performance and Metrics

  • Define, refine and maintain the core metrics and KPIs that represent the health of the business.

  • Ensure every function reports accurately, consistently and on time, with full ownership of the reporting calendar.

  • Build a single source of truth for performance, ensuring that the CEO and Exco always have a complete and accurate picture.

  • Analyse underlying trends and surface risks, underperformance and emerging issues proactively.

  • Drive alignment between strategy, operating metrics and financial performance.

Internal and External Reporting

  • Own all company level reporting for the CEO including weekly business performance updates, monthly leadership reviews and quarterly strategic summaries.

  • Partner with Finance and Data teams to build a consistent internal reporting system that ensures every metric is accurate, timely and grounded in reality.

  • Produce high quality Board materials including structured narratives, performance summaries, strategic updates, risks, and CEO briefing notes.

  • Coordinate the Board operating rhythm including meeting preparation, agenda design, document collation, minute taking and follow up tracking.

  • Prepare investor updates using the same internal reporting foundations, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent and supported by verified data.

  • Manage inbound investor queries, ensuring that responses are accurate, aligned with narrative guidance and delivered at pace.

  • Build a unified source of truth for performance, ensuring the CEO can speak confidently to investors, Board members and senior stakeholders without heavy preparation work.

  • Ensure external reporting is lightweight by maintaining a disciplined, high quality internal reporting engine.

Strategic Partner to the CEO

  • Support the CEO in prioritisation, preparing strategic analysis and creating clarity from ambiguous information.

  • Triage all incoming requests, remove noise and accelerate decision making across the business.

  • Lead cross functional initiatives linked to strategic priorities, ensuring disciplined execution.

Operating Rhythm and Organisational Alignment

  • Own the company operating rhythm including annual planning, OKRs, monthly performance reviews and leadership routines.

  • Build predictable, high quality processes that keep the organisation aligned and focused.

  • Strengthen communication across teams through structured, timely and accurate updates.

Culture and Leadership

  • Model pace, ownership, analytical rigour and clarity.

  • Raise the bar on how the organisation communicates and evaluates performance.

  • Build trusted relationships with functional leaders to drive cross functional accountability.

What You'll Bring
  • Six or more years in a Chief of Staff, strategy, operations, consulting or data driven role in a high growth business.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage performance reporting systems across multiple functions.

  • Strong analytical capability with comfort working deeply with metrics, trends and business drivers.

  • Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to convert complex information into clear narratives.

  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders, challenge constructively and drive accountability.

  • Excellent programme management and organisation skills with experience managing multiple streams of work.

  • Ability to operate with pace, sound judgement and strong problem solving under ambiguity.
