Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, assisting with daily living activities and ensuring the highest standards of care. Your ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with both clients and healthcare professionals will be vital in delivering personalised care plans that enhance the quality of life for those you support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
  • Implement and follow care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring that all aspects of care are delivered effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding as required, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
  • Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes, ensuring all records are up-to-date and compliant with regulations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to work independently when required.
  • Basic IT skills for documentation purposes; familiarity with care management software is an advantage.
