Our client is looking for a detail-driven, commercially minded Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team on a Contract. This is a hands-on role with real impact, perfect for someone who thrives on accuracy, insight, and continuous improvement. You'll play a key part in shaping financial strategy, ensuring compliance, and supporting decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
  • Prepare financial statements, management accounts, and variance analyses
  • Oversee reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments with precision
  • Support budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing data-driven insights
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls
  • Collaborate with auditors, tax advisors, and cross-functional teams
  • Drive process improvements and contribute to finance system upgrades

Requirements:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a senior accounting role, ideally within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, NetSuite)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive mindset and a passion for continuous improvement
