About the role:
As part of the Commercial team, the Junior Portfolio Analyst will;

  • Identify opportunities to improve existing models and processes and lead the implementation of enhancements to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Contribute to the successful rollout of new initiatives and projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business goals.
  • Track progress of ongoing improvements and projects, producing clear and informative data packs for internal use.
  • Work closely with teams across the Group—including [CG1] Finance, Operations, Logistics, and Biomass Trading—to gather key information and support optimal generation strategies.
  • Develop a strong grasp of the commercial logic and processes behind our optimisation strategies, with a particular focus on interfaces with Logistics, Biomass Trading, and Operations.
  • Manage meeting logistics including scheduling, room bookings, slide pack distribution, minute taking, and action tracking.

To be successful in this role you'll ideally have…

  • A passion for numbers - a genuine enthusiasm for working with data and uncovering insights that drive smarter decisions.
  • A strong ability to apply rules and regulations accurately, ensuring precision in every task.
  • Excellent prioritisation, coordination, and organisational skills, with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is essential, along with clear and confident communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Experience with Power BI report development and Power Query[CG2] is a plus. Familiarity with coding languages such as VBA, Python, or SQL is advantageous but not required.
  • A thirst for learning and eagerness to expand your knowledge across systems, tools, and commercial processes.
