Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring high quality and consistency.
  • Handle food preparation tasks including slicing fish, preparing rice, and assembling sushi rolls.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
  • Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques to enhance menu offerings.
  • Provide excellent service by engaging with guests when necessary, sharing knowledge about sushi dishes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting.
  • Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on sushi preparation and presentation.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and practices to ensure compliance in the kitchen.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in meal preparation and serving is advantageous but not mandatory.
