About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Cabling Engineer to join our team. The role will involve frequent travel, primarily within Europe, with occasional projects further afield (always in line with UK government safety guidance). Assignments typically last a maximum of 12 days at a time.
You will be expected to work alongside our engineers and apprentices to support the delivery of our structured cabling projects to the highest industry standards.
Our offices are based near Southampton (North Baddesley) - although this role is predominantly field based, you must be located within a commutable distance from our offices in order to pick up tools, materials or to work from there occasionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing Category 6 and Category 6a cabling
- Installing and testing fibre optic cabling
- Terminating and certifying structured cabling systems
- Racking, stacking, and patching equipment in comms rooms
- Accurately updating customer documentation and project records
About You
To be successful in this role, you should bring: -
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in structured cabling installation
- Industry certification (CommScope, Panduit, Leviton, etc.) – desirable but not essential
- Strong technical knowledge and practical skills, with high attention to detail
- Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general IT use (Fluke LinkWare Live – desirable)
- A professional, polite and well-presented manner
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle
- Legal authorisation to work in the UK
- SC clearance desirable but not essential. Willingness to undergo SC clearance/background checks (if not already cleared)
