Birmingham, Birmingham, United Kingdom Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust Full time £25,000 - £35,000 per year

We're looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate
Support, Time & Recovery (STR) Worker
to join the
Newington Community Mental Health & Wellbeing Service (CMHWS)
— part of our innovative, integrated model for North Solihull.

As an STR Worker, you'll play a vital frontline role in helping people move forward in their recovery journey. You'll work alongside a skilled and friendly multidisciplinary team to provide
practical, social and emotional support
to individuals in the community — empowering them to set goals, regain confidence, and connect with the opportunities and services that matter most to them.

This is a dynamic, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You might be helping someone rebuild their daily routine, supporting them to attend appointments, or exploring new ways to enhance wellbeing and independence through creative, community-based solutions.

You'll hold a small caseload, allowing you to
build real, trusting relationships
and deliver
personalised, recovery-focused care
in line with the CMHWS approach — combining compassion, collaboration, and practical problem-solving.

Working within a
fully integrated CMHT–NMHT team
, you'll be part of a service that's breaking down barriers between pathways, improving access, and shaping a new way of delivering local mental health support.

  • You will ensure that there are effective care pathways to a range of
  • services that will enhance individual recovery. This will be achieved by ensuring close liaison with identified partners and community organisations including employment /training providers, housing and mental health. You will also engage in low intensity psychosocial interventions to service users on caseload supported by clinical supervisions provided by clinical leads and psychology colleagues within MDT setting.. You will be able to signpost services users to the appropriate facilities and provide effective, time and need led support

Welcome to Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. Our 4000 clinical and support staff help us to improve mental health wellbeing and meet the needs of the 70,000 people we serve each year. We provide a range of mental healthcare services across Birmingham and Solihull, as well as specialised services nationally. We also offer medical, nursing and psychology training and are proud of our international reputation for both research and innovation.

Our population is culturally diverse, characterised in places by high levels of deprivation which create an increasing demand for our services and a necessity for us to make sure everyone can access the help they need. We are a team of compassionate, inclusive and committed people working together to provide excellent care to support our community. If you are looking for a place to belong, where you can make a real difference to people's lives, join our team where our warm welcome is waiting for you.
