The Role

Reporting to the CEO, we're looking for a hands-on and strategic Head of Engineering to be a cornerstone of our technology team. You will help to bolster Whering's tech team as it doubles in size over the next 24 months, lead critical architectural discussions, mentor other developers, and have a profound impact on the technical foundation that powers the Whering experience for millions of users.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience building scalable backend services (TypeScript and ), cloud infrastructure, particularly GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Firestore), and iOS and Android apps (Flutter).
  • A strategic, architectural mindset with the ability to lead system design decisions and solve complex technical challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership or mentorship role, evolving our engineering standards and principles to foster a high-performance engineering culture.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with C-level leadership, product, and design teams.
