We are seeking a skilled and reliable Payroll / Finance Assistant to support our finance operations. This part-time role is ideal for a candidate with proven expertise in Sage Payroll and Sage Accounts, and a thorough understanding of payroll processing, pension schemes (including Nest and re-enrolment), and CIS compliance. The successful applicant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely HMRC submissions, and supporting project cost allocation across the business.

Key Responsibilities

· Process weekly payroll using Sage Payroll

· Manage all aspects of the CIS scheme, including monthly HMRC returns

· Administer Nest Pensions, including re-enrolment duties

· Allocate labour costs across multiple projects

· Maintain accurate journals and entries within Sage Accounts

· Prepare and manage costings using Excel spreadsheets

Essential Skills & Experience

· Proficient in Sage Payroll and Sage Accounts

· Strong understanding of CIS scheme and HMRC reporting

· Familiarity with Nest Pensions and auto-enrolment processes

· Experience in project costing and labour allocation

· Competent in Excel, including formulas and cost analysis

· Knowledge of journal processing and financial reporting

Location: Office-based- Portsmouth

Hours: Tuesday & Thursday (14 hours per week), with potential to increase.

Salary: £17 - £20 depending on experience.
