The International Environmental Initiatives team mission is to ensure that Apple's products, initiatives and recycling programs exceed the strictest environmental regulatory requirements. A compliance team at heart, we anticipate and assess future environmental (regulatory) developments and trends. We support Apple's corporate environmental teams to deliver industry-leading initiatives to reduce our impact on climate change, conserve finite resources, and eliminate the use of harmful substances through more thoughtful chemistry.

Are you looking for your next career move? We are now looking for an Environmental Program Manager for the United Kingdom, Ireland, Northern and Eastern Europe. This is a phenomenal opportunity for someone that is passionate about being at the forefront of emerging environmental legislative trends. The role will focus on identifying and analyzing environmental regulations across the assigned region, executing technical and stakeholder engagement and ensuring full compliance with regulations pertaining to key environmental regulatory topics (including environmental regulations impacting hardware, software and service, circular economy, extended producer responsibility, materials and substances, consumer information as well as climate policy). The position is based at Apple's iconic UK headquarters in London Battersea, where you will be interacting with colleagues cross-functionally.
Responsibilities
- Map the regulatory landscape by monitoring and analyzing emerging environmental legislation across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Northern and Eastern Europe, transforming policy trends into strategic business intelligence that drives proactive decision-making;
- Lead cross-functional excellence in supporting the development and the execution of compliance programs for environmental product regulations, orchestrating seamless collaboration across diverse teams to deliver measurable impact;
Building influential relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including select trade associations; drive strategic partnerships with regulatory authorities across the region, while establishing the company as a thought leader on the environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven experience in analysing environmental regulation and developing environmental programs; understanding of policy and stakeholder engagement processes;
- Good knowledge of product and corporate environmental regulations affecting consumer electronics;
- Ability to communicate complex regulations and technical information to internal partners in a clear and understandable way;
- Consistent track record of working with cross-functional, international teams;
- Collaborates well in interdisciplinary project teams; Self-motivated and pro-active;
- Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management and Sustainability, Ecology, Law, Political Science or a related field;
- Proficient in English is a must, excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Established network with relevant communities, incl. policy-makers, trade associations, compliance schemes, NGOs and research institutions, on European and country level as relevant to the regional scope of this role;

Additional EU language skills relevant to the regional scope of this role are a plus.
