The opportunity
As Marketing Manager, your key focus will be brand partnerships, brand marketing, and trade marketing. This new role reports to the Marketing & Creative Director and is responsible for managing brand investment, developing insight-led brand plans, and delivering paid media campaigns that drive growth across online, retail, and trade channels.
This role involves collaborating with teams from across the business, and brand partners, to create high-quality, fit-for-channel content and ensure timely deployment of assets. Additionally, the Marketing Manager supports trade marketing initiatives by producing best-in-class materials, planning events, and executing annual trade strategies to strengthen brand presence. Success in this role requires strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, performance monitoring, and the ability to provide actionable insights to optimise marketing effectiveness and ROI.
This role is responsible for the management and development of two direct reports.
Your unique contribution
Brand Partnerships (60%):
- Own and maintain the Brand Investment Masterfile, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment for cross-functional use (e.g. digital marketing, content and finance teams)
- Support the Marketing and Creative Director in building and delivering robust, insight-led brand plans that drive growth across all channels - online, retail, and trade
- Collaborate with the Digital Marketing team to create and implement engaging, creative content that delivers brand growth across all paid media channels
- Establish effective ways of working with brand partners, enabling the creation of dynamic, fit-for-channel content and ensuring all assets are delivered to channel owners for timely deployment
- Lead the delivery of all agreed brand paid activity across The Whisky Exchange's shops, trade, and online platforms, ensuring consistency, quality, and commercial impact
- Partner cross-functionally with internal teams (e-commerce, retail, trade, creative, and analytics) to ensure all brand activations are aligned and optimised
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on campaign performance and brand investment, providing actionable insights to drive continuous improvement
Trade Marketing (40%):
- Support in implementing the trade marketing strategy across retail and trade channels, ensuring alignment with overall brand and commercial objectives
- Develop and deliver best-in-class BTL and digital trade assets, including sales presenters, point-of-sale materials, business cards, invitations, and other trade communication tools
- Collaborate closely with the Events team to plan and execute trade-specific events and activations that strengthen brand presence and drive engagement within the trade community
- Support the creation and deployment of annual trade marketing plans, ensuring timely delivery, consistent execution, and effective tracking of performance against objectives
- Work cross-functionally with sales, brand, and creative teams to ensure all trade marketing initiatives are cohesive, on-brand, and commercially impactful
- Monitor and report on trade marketing activity, providing insights and recommendations to improve effectiveness and ROI.
Your blend of talent
- Proven experience in spirits marketing is essential
- Proven experience in marketing, especially around premium and luxury brand development and the ability to implement strategy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong ambassadorial, influence and negotiation skills
- A creative thinker with a genuine flair for strong brand partnerships, and having a track record of creative innovative solutions
- An entrepreneurial approach - hands-on, adapts in a fast-paced environment and can make decisions to benefit the wider business
- Analytical with a sound business and financial acumen
- Ability to influence cross-functionally across the different business units and management of key stakeholders
- Outstanding written, verbal and presentation skills
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise and plan workload
- Experience in owning and executing strategies
- IT Literate, particularly the Microsoft Office suite of products
