About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Credit Controller to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the company's debtor ledger, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments, and maintaining strong relationships with customers. Alongside core credit control duties, you will also support the wider finance team with ad hoc accounts tasks, providing flexibility and exposure across different areas of accounting.

Key Responsibilities

Credit Control:

  • Proactively chase outstanding debts via phone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Monitor customer accounts, ensuring payments are received within agreed terms.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies quickly and professionally.
  • Prepare regular debtor reports and escalate problematic accounts as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of communication and account status.
  • Submit new claims to our credit insurance provider and follow up existing claims.

Ad Hoc Accounts Duties:

  • Assist with processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Support with bank reconciliations and data entry.
  • Help prepare month-end reports and financial statements.
  • Provide cover and assistance across the finance team when needed.
  • Contribute to process improvements and ad hoc finance projects.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in credit control or a similar finance role.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks).
  • Team player with a flexible approach to tasks.

What We Offer
