Warehouse Supervisor

Working Hours: 6:00 - 15:00, Monday to Friday and every other Saturday.

The role

To oversee our warehouse daytime picking operations and supervise a team of warehouse staff, whilst being responsible for coordinating and managing daily activities to ensure efficient and organised warehouse operations. The Picking Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate fulfilment of customer orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, optimising space utilisation while maintaining a safe and productive warehouse environment.

Key Tasks/ Responsibilities:

• Ensuring smooth picking operation by managing the efficient allocation of orders to the picking team through the WMS (Warehouse Management System).

• Supervise and lead a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback as well as checking and recording the quality of work for performance incentive calculations.

• Coordinate and assign daily tasks, ensuring efficient execution of storing, picking, packing, and shipping processes.

• Collaborate with other departments, such as transport, procurement, and stock control, to ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfilment.

• Implement and enforce warehouse policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.

• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions to enhance warehouse efficiency and productivity.

• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment, adhering to Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.

• Prepare and generate reports on warehouse operations, including inventory levels, order status, and performance metrics.

• Manage the daily administrative side of operations and warehouse functions, including order picking, general housekeeping documentation, managing the ordering of consumables, completing agency timesheets, staff attendance / KPIs and other admin tasks as allocated by managers.

• Day-to-day administration of any new issues raised: pro-actively looking to minimise issues in advance and resolve issues as far as possible

• Notify management of any issues which may impact the efficient running of the operations including unsatisfactory performance or disciplinary issues.

• Ensure all customers orders and requirements are fulfilled.

• Ensure all documentation is matched and correct; and where not, to ensure that is reported.

• Communicate with the sales and transport teams as appropriate.

• Answer calls and respond to all emails in an appropriate time frame and follow up with relevant outcomes.

• Ensure a smooth handover each day to the night picking team.

• Ensure all reports are up to date and accurate.

• Ensure a tidy warehouse that conforms to all BRC requirements.
