PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Script Secretary ensures the smooth and efficient running of EastEnders' script processes by providing vital administrative support to the Script Supervisors and production team. This role is responsible for preparing and distributing accurate scripts, managing amendments, maintaining comprehensive filing systems, and assisting with post-production paperwork.
Acting as a key point of coordination, the Script Secretary helps uphold continuity and accuracy across episodes, enabling the creative team to deliver the much-loved drama of Albert Square to millions of audiences every week.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
- Support our EastEnders Script Supervisors by assisting with administrative and organizational tasks, ensuring scripts and related materials are accurate and up to date.
- Compile and distribute script amendments, camera scripts, and camera cards, often working to tight deadlines.
- Maintain comprehensive filing systems and update key documents for quick and accurate information retrieval.
- Manage the production office, liaising with facilities and tech teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Essential Criteria
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Passion for Television Drama with a demonstrable interest in EastEnders and its production.
- Demonstrable experience in a demanding administrative role, managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Understanding of the Script Supervisor role and interest in pursuing a career in this area.
- Proficiency with IT software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, and ideally typing speed of 50 wpm.
- Evidence of a strong attention to detail, able to spot errors and maintain accurate filing systems.
- Demonstrable strong communication skills for liaising with multiple stakeholders across production teams and evidence of your experience in this.
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge of script processes or experience using industry systems like Scriptwriter.
- Experience in a fast-paced production environment, ideally within broadcast television.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with tact and professionalism.
