We're currently seeking caring and reliable Bank Youth Worker to join our team in Telford. This flexible role is ideal for those who want to make a real difference while choosing shifts that fit around their availability.

About the Role

As a Bank Youth Worker, you'll work as part of a dedicated team supporting young people in their daily lives — helping them to develop independence, build confidence, and achieve their goals. You'll provide emotional and practical support, ensuring each child receives the highest standard of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support young people with daily routines, activities, and personal development
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
  • Promote independence, life skills, and healthy lifestyles
  • Manage and respond to challenging behaviour using a calm, therapeutic approach
  • Follow care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to team meetings and handovers
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, professionals, and families to ensure the best outcomes

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a children's residential or care setting (preferred but not essential)
  • Compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to supporting young people
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenging situations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (as required)

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – desirable
  • Willingness to complete relevant training if not yet qualified
