Ecommerce Specialist
Hi there,
This is Jonathan, founder of The Thrifty Gentleman (https://thrifty-), a UK-based ecommerce business specialising in stylish, high-quality watch straps at affordable prices.
We're at an interesting growth point and, because of this, I'm looking for an experienced e-commerce mentor to support me with the next stage of our growth.
The business has reached the point where, if we don't invest in specialist ecommerce knowledge and expertise, our growth will probably not accelerate as quickly as I believe it can.
Probably best if I start by outlining what I am looking for?
Ultimately i am looking for somebody to support me with key ecommerce business strategy questions that i have and also proactively challenge my approach and unlock growth opportunities.
- You will be available for approximately 2 hours per week on an ongoing basis. I see it being a flexible engagement but i'd like to think it would be half of the time me bringing questions for clarity to be added (examples of topics below), and the other half where you bring new ideas/opportunities for us to explore.
Example topics:
Structuring and optimising our existing Google Ads campaigns
Setting up Meta ads for success incl. what media rexommendations to start with and how best to analyse, test ans optimise
Website redevelopment and CRO (incl. ideas such as upsells and cross-sells, bundling etc)
Email marketing especially campaign cadence and content strategy
There are other topics too but this gives a view of the initial topics and a perspective on the variety.
Who would be the ideal candidate?
I think this is engagement would be ideal for somebody who has successfully lived and breathed their own ecommerce business and is now looking to use that expertise as a practical business mentor.
We are at an exciting point in our business - having grown significantly over the last 6 months - and somebody who gets energy from advising small business owners and seeing the impact of sharing their knowledge, experience and expertise would be ideal.
You will also be UK-based so we can align on strategy calls easily and you will also bringunderstanding of the local market.
Who is not the ideal candidate?
If you haven't run your own ecommece business previously or you specialise in only one or a couple of the topics outlined above, this isn't going to be the right fit for you.
We need to be working together on a range of topics and the profile of a specialist freelancer doesn't fit for this role.
So, if this sounds exciting, and you feel like you are somebody who can truly partner with me and help The Thrifty Gentleman scale to the next level, please get in contact
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Jonathan
