Based in the heart of Liverpool's thriving commercial district, we support some of the most forward-thinking and exciting businesses in the North-West, including those in creative, construction and manufacturing industries.

Role Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Head of Accounts to lead our internal team and champion our client-centric approach. This role goes beyond compliance; it's about providing strategic financial leadership, nurturing relationships, and driving value for our clients and team.

As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Venture Finance Management as we continue to scale.

Responsibilities

Client Management
:

• Manage a diverse portfolio of ambitious SMEs across various industries.
• Develop and maintain proactive relationships with directors and business owners, providing strategic advice, insights and experience.

Team Leadership
:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a growing team of six, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Independently review and oversee the preparation of statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, VAT returns and board packs prepared by the team.

Strategic Contributions
:

• Prepare statutory accounts and monthly management board packs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Collaborate with managing directors to identify growth opportunities, enhance service delivery and maximise operational efficiencies.

The Candidate

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA / ACA) with a minimum of 3+ years post-qualification practice experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Xero and familiarity with other cloud-based accounting tools and systems.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, VAT returns and corporation tax returns.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a client-focused mindset.
• Driven, ambitious, and a team player with a courteous and professional approach.
• Ability to demonstrate having a direct and positive impact on clients and partners.

Remuneration Package

· Salary - £50,000–£55,000 (dependent on experience).

· Monthly performance bonus package.
