Sonepar UK are looking for a HR Manager to join our team on a 12 month FTC. The role will manage a team of three people, including a HRBP, Data and Projects Specialist and an Engagement Co Ordinator (incl internal comms), be the point of contact for ER escalations for Mayflex and Routeco, our UK sister company, as well as ensuring the board are updated on activities. The role will also have a number of HR Projects to work on throughout the 12 months.

Sonepar are the number one world leader in B2B sales, present in 40 countries. The People Ops team cover Sonepars two UK companies; Mayflex and Routeco. This role will work primarily with Mayflex based in Birmingham.

Mayflex is a leading distributor of converged IP solutions including infrastructure, networking and IP security solutions. They own Excel Networking Solutions brand which is the number one cabling brand in the UK as reported by BSRIA and is sold throughout Europe and the Middle East.

Are You the Person We're Looking For?

We are looking for a proactive, engaging individual with management and a high level of ER experience. You will need to be comfortable to hit the ground running to deliver our ambitious projects in 2026.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Assist HRBP in Proactive and Reactive ER Advice to managers and employees, including lower and higher level disciplinaries, grievances, and performance management. The role will be escalation for complex ER matters at both Mayflex and Routeco.
  • Ensuring recruitment is progressing well proactively reviewing metrics such as time to hire, cost of hire, hire source and probation statistics alongside the HRBP.
  • Creating monthly board reports and attending board meetings when needed.
  • Ensuring accuracy on data that is being presented to the business and Sonepar.
  • Attend weekly 121s with Finance Director to report on data, projects, risks escalation etc.
  • Weekly 121s with the team and HR Manager at Routeco to ensure planned projects and initiatives are on track and discuss and changes are made and agreed where needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • HR Project Management and Implementation.
What You Need to Bring to Mayflex
  • 3+ years HR Management
  • 5+ years Senior ER Experience
  • Organised and ability to Project Manage
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to manage time and the demands of numerous tasks effectively
  • Patient and with the ability to remain calm
  • A natural influencer who is down to earth, open, energetic, and enthusiastic.
