We are looking for kind and passionate Health Care Assistants to work as an integral member of our team at the Marillac Neurological Care Centre.
You will need to provide a person-centred approach to care for adults ages 18+ with complex acquired neurological conditions and physical difficulties. All Marillac employees are expected to work in accordance with policies and procedures, offering each resident such support as is necessary to promote their individual lifestyle and choices.
Due to the range of speciality therapy services we provide, this role can offer exciting and varied knowledge and skills, contributing to your development as a HCA.
We are not able to offer sponsorship of any kind.
Responsibilities:
- To deliver personal care to our residents in a dignified manner, (Toileting, hygiene, washing and dressing and mobility requirements)
- To take a person centred approach when providing care for the residents
- To refer to an individual's care plan when providing support
- To understand the main routes of infection spread and how to prevent cross infection
- To work closely with the Registered Nurses, Therapists and Supporting staff to understand the needs and treatment for each resident
- To work in accordance with internal, local and CQC policies and procedures
- To complete the Marillac induction programme as well as yearly mandatory training
- To comply with your duty of care to the residents at all times
- To apply the Marillac values of Respect, Trust, Hope, Excellence and Dignity into your daily work routine
Requirements:
- Preferably have an NVQ Level 2 or above/equivalent in Health and Social Care
- Must have the ability to carry out manual handling activities (involving residents and/or equipment), which require frequent and moderate physical effort during each shift
- The ideal candidate should have a strong passion and willingness to care for vulnerable adults
