Drainage Technical Specialist

We operate 24/7 and as such you are required to work flexible hours, weekends and participate in an on-call rota. Full training / PPE / use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all our drainage engineers have the right tools, competency, and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes' high standard of operation regardless of background or previous experience.

Individuals working as technical specialists are responsible for analysing and providing solutions to technical drainage issues, providing technical support to other departments and operatives, as well as supervising work process and ensuring health and safety.

Position: Technical Specialist

Location: Deephams Depot, North London Region (Enfield, North London)

Job Type: Permanent, full-time

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours and on-call rota

Salary: OTE £34,000 per annum depending upon experience

About the Role:

Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems.

  • Advising Operatives on all aspects of day to day duties
  • Liaising with Network Engineers and Thames Water's operational team
  • Liaising with planners and schedulers
  • Pollution tracing
  • Enabling works
  • Auditing and compliance checks
  • Checking competency off new starters
  • Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them
  • Any other reasonable adhoc task, duty or project requested by management

About You:

The ideal candidate will be hard working and respectful and comply with health and safety standards. Previous drainage experience is crucial as is a full UK drivers licence. Communication skills and the ability to build relationships and networking skills are key. Prioritising and multitasking are fundamental skills required in the role.
