The Role
As our Bar Team Member at the renowned The Caledonian Edinburgh, you will play an integral role in creating unforgettable experiences for our guests. Whether they are enjoying a morning coffee, indulging in our award-winning afternoon tea, severing a delightful lunch, or enjoying an evening cocktail, you will contribute to making every moment exceptional.

As part of a luxurious and iconic venue, you will deliver an unparalleled level of service, ensuring our hotel remains the premier destination for those seeking elegance, refinement, and extraordinary hospitality. As a bartender, your key responsibilities will encompass various dynamic and engaging aspects of guest service. You will be the face of our bar, warmly welcoming guests with professionalism and providing expert advice on beverages and cocktails. Your focus will be on curating personalized experiences tailored to each guest's unique tastes and preferences. Beverage service will be at the core of your role, where you will prepare and serve drinks to perfection, maintaining our high standards of quality and presentation. A comprehensive knowledge of premium spirits, wine pairings, and classic cocktails is essential to meet and exceed guest expectations.

We value creativity and innovation, so your passion for mixology will be encouraged through opportunities to inspire and develop new, exciting drink offerings. Working collaboratively with the team, you will help introduce imaginative cocktails that elevate our menu and enhance the guest experience. Operational excellence is vital, and you will be responsible for maintaining an immaculate bar area, ensuring all equipment is clean, well-stocked, and fully functional. Accuracy in handling cash, charge, and float procedures in accordance with company standards will also be expected.

An important part of your role will be upselling premium products and services by demonstrating thorough knowledge of the hotel's offerings and embodying our luxury brand standards. Collaboration with colleagues across all Food & Beverage outlets will be key to ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Flexibility and a supportive attitude are crucial, as you may be required to assist other departments when needed. You will also take part in ongoing training sessions to refine your skills and deepen your knowledge of the hotel's beverage and mixology offerings.

Adherence to all hygiene, fire, health, and safety regulations in line with hotel policies and industry standards is essential. We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for mixology and premium beverages, someone who is eager to learn, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to the hotel's beverage program. A flair for creativity and a love of crafting unique, inspired cocktails are highly valued. A warm, friendly, and approachable demeanour is essential to make every guest feel welcome and valued.
