Relief Milker

Overview

We are seeking an experienced relief milker/stockperson to join our small, close-knit team on a mixed dairy, beef and arable farm. You will support the care and milking of 120 pedigree cows in a herringbone parlour. You will also assist with the rearing and feeding of young stock and some general farm work. All dairy replacements are reared on farm, and beef calves finished over a two year period within our extensive system. Fodder and bedding is provided from the farm's arable unit.

Requirements

• Proven experience in the dairy sector and good handling skills
• Assist with the daily care of livestock, including feeding and rearing of young stock
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
• Assist with dairy operations and general farm tasks
• Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures
• Relief milking 2-3 days every fortnight, additional holiday cover

Accommodation

• 3 bed cottage, central heating and double glazed. Garden

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 – 60 per week
