Buying Assistant

We are looking for a Buying Assistant to bring their passion for product and precision to our Furniture department. This role is a 9-month fixed-term contract until September 2026.

About the Role

As a Buying Assistant in our Furniture department, you'll play a vital role in supporting the Buying team to deliver commercial success and elevate the customer experience across all channels. Working closely with the Buyer and Assistant Buyer, you'll ensure the smooth running of the Buying Office and contribute to the development of our product offering.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Buying Support: Assist with seasonal product selections, competitor analysis, and trend research, while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Order Management: Manage order confirmations, validate commercial details, and support purchase order creation and vendor onboarding.
  • Marketing & Product Data: Coordinate marketing submissions, maintain product data accuracy, and liaise with vendors on pricing and article updates.
  • Trade & Online Management: Produce trade reports, monitor online ranges, and support pop-up launches and in-season price changes.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Build cross-functional relationships, support new team member onboarding, and ensure professional communication across all levels.

Depending on your role, you may be fully on-site or have a mix of on-site and home working – this is what we refer to as 'Hybrid'. Our hybrid working policy allows colleagues to work from home for part of the week, with a minimum of three days on-site, depending on business needs.

Please see our policy on our Career Site for more information or speak to a member of our Talent Acquisition team if you have any questions regarding the requirements for this role.

About You

You will be a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a passion for luxury retail and a keen interest in furniture and home trends. Your ability to manage multiple tasks, communicate effectively, and adapt to changing priorities will be key to your success in this fast-paced environment. You'll thrive in a collaborative setting and be confident working independently when needed.

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A strong understanding of the luxury retail industry and current trends.
  • Excellent time-management, prioritisation, and organisational skills.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical capabilities.
