Job Description:
The Financial Accountant (12-month contract) will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial accounting, reporting, and compliance. This role will ensure accurate financial reporting, support statutory and maintain strong internal controls, while partnering closely with the US finance team and local advisors.

This position requires someone who can speak French fluently.

What you'll do:

  • Work with the Transaction Controller, who manages the EMEA Shared Service Centre, to ensure the day-to-day financial accounting transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Prepare and submit monthly financial statements in compliance with IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Oversee the preparation of the annual statutory accounts and manage the group and local year-end audit processes.
  • Support the Tax Department's compliance and statutory requirements, including VAT returns, Corporation Tax, and other local filings.
  • Maintain and monitor internal controls and SOX compliance.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other local partners.
  • Partner with the US Controllership team to provide information and support on all financial matters.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the finance operations.
  • Support ad hoc finance projects as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience/Skills/Education
Required:

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in a similar Finance Manager or Controller role.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS.
  • Experience preparing UK statutory accounts and managing audits.
  • Strong understanding of tax compliance (VAT, Corporation Tax).
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in ERP systems, ideally NetSuite.
  • Strong MS Excel skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience within a multinational organization.
  • Exposure to SOX compliance.
  • Experience in the beauty, aesthetics, or retail industry.
