They are seeking a Marketing Director with a focus on demand generation who can elevate the brand, strengthen its market footprint and inspire a talented marketing team.

You'll lead an established yet evolving marketing and events function of five talented and growing marketers, all eager to learn, grow and deliver. Your role is to elevate them—developing capability, refining marketing best practice and nurturing a team culture where creativity and accountability sit side by side.

The Role

As Marketing Director, you will be responsible for setting the overall marketing strategy across the full mix, delivering brand growth, deepening customer engagement and driving commercial outcomes, notably demand generation. You will work closely with the CEO and form a critical partnership with Sales and Content leaders, ensuring marketing has a powerful voice at the leadership table.

While this is a broad and strategic position, events marketing and demand generation will be a core area of focus. The business delivers an expanding portfolio of conferences, summits and industry gatherings—products that sit at the heart of the brand ecosystem. You will lead the strategy to grow attendance, accelerate demand generation and email subscribers, optimise customer acquisition and retention, and deliver world-class event experiences through innovative, data-led marketing.

Beyond events, you will oversee brand, digital, content marketing, campaign planning, CRM, analytics, audience development and product positioning. You'll play an instrumental role in shaping how the brand shows up across all channels, ensuring consistency, clarity and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and execute the end-to-end marketing strategy
    across events, digital, content and brand.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of five
    , creating an environment where individuals feel empowered, supported and set up for success.
  • Refine marketing processes, capability and performance
    , helping the function mature and scale effectively.
  • Own and evolve the events marketing strategy
    , ensuring strong attendance growth, excellent audience targeting and breakthrough creative.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally
    with Sales, Content and Product teams to ensure alignment on priorities and commercial objectives.
  • Represent marketing at leadership level
    , contributing strategic insight and ensuring marketing plays a central role in business planning.
  • Champion a data-driven approach
    , using insights to refine campaigns, optimise performance and inform decision-making.
  • Play a key role in brand development
    , shaping messaging, positioning and overall market perception.
  • Foster innovation
    , continually pushing the boundaries of what great B2B media marketing looks like.

About You

You are an experienced senior marketing leader with a proven track record in B2B media, publishing, events or a closely related industry. You understand the rhythm of a media organisation, the importance of compelling content, and the commercial levers that drive audience growth and revenue.

You are also an exceptional people leader—someone who genuinely enjoys developing others, who leads with empathy, who believes in coaching over commanding, and who knows how to cultivate a high-performing, motivated and loyal team.

Your experience should include:

  • A strong background in B2B events marketing
    —ideally within a media or publishing environment or similar
  • Demonstrable leadership experience
    , managing, coaching and growing a multi-disciplinary marketing team.
  • Strategic capability across the full marketing mix
    , coupled with a willingness to be hands-on when needed.
  • Excellent stakeholder management
    , especially working with commercial and content teams.
  • A collaborative, curious and people-centric approach
    to leadership.
  • Experience driving brand and audience growth
    , ideally within a media or information-led business.
