Responsibilities include:

  • Provide personalised care and support to people within their homes in line with their care plans.
  • Support service users with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and autism to live safely and confidently.
  • Assist with daily living tasks including personal care, meal preparation, domestic duties, and medication support (as trained).
  • Promote independence by encouraging service users to participate in activities and develop life skills.
  • Support service users with community access, appointments, and social activities.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with service users to encourage emotional wellbeing.
  • Use respectful and effective communication to ensure the individual is heard and involved in decisions about their care.
  • Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and the care team to ensure continuity of support.
  • Maintain accurate, timely records including daily notes, incident reports, and medication records.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns promptly.
  • Help to ensure that service user homes are properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Participate in staff meetings and in staff training and development activities.
  • Ability to work alone with minimum supervision (lone working)

As a Daystar Care Assistant / Care Worker, you will be fully supported in your role from the very beginning ensuring you are fully trained, competent, and confident to deliver outstanding care.

Our office team will work alongside you and truly understand and appreciate you as part of the team.

Ongoing training is provided regularly to ensure your knowledge is up to date.

Whether you have experience in care or you are completely new to the role, we will support you with gaining the skills required to provide the highest quality of care to our service users

Requirements:

  • You must be able to work at least every other weekend
  • You will need to be caring, kind, patient, reliable, honest, and trustworthy
  • Willing to undertake Personal Care tasks including bathing and toileting
  • Adhere to Daystar Care Services Ltd's policies and procedures
  • Be comfortable working within either a team setting or lone working
  • You must have the right to work in the UK and have a valid driving license and access to a vehicle.

Please note this is a Domiciliary Care vacancy which involves providing care and support within a client's own home within the community.
