About the Role:

We're on the lookout for a passionate Assistant Store Manager to support the day-to-day running of our flagship Evesham store. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves people, creativity, and community, and enjoys leading by example on the shop floor.

Working closely with the Store Manager, you'll help create a warm, welcoming space that customers love returning to. You'll support daily operations across the shop, café, and workshops/events, help motivate and develop the team, and play a key role in driving sales and great customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading, supporting, and motivating a retail & creative team.
• Harnessing community within our store.
• Handling customer queries, feedback, and customer needs with care.
• Building relationships with regular customers, workshop hosts, and local makers.
• Supporting the management of store and café operations, ensuring smooth service.
• Maintaining a clean, inviting, beautifully presented space.
• Collaborating on visual merchandising, product displays, and seasonal themes – in line with company campaigns set by Marketing.
• Supporting cafe staff when needed.
• Supporting on stock administration for café, where needed.
• Working with the team to plan and coordinate workshops, craft clubs, and in-store shopping events.
• Working with local artists, teachers, and small businesses.
• Creating an uplifting, inclusive & approachable environment for all skill levels.
• Supporting on store stock management (both CC stock & third-party brands).
• Monitoring waste, inventory, and café supplies.
• Monitoring & managing Health & Safety, and food hygiene standards in café.
• Supporting the Store Manager with budgeting, cash handling, reporting, and sales targets.
• Tracking workshop bookings, event revenues & margins.

Person Specification:

Qualifications & Experience:

• 5+ years previous experience in an assistant/ supervisory managerial retail role is required.
• Experience of managing a café would be preferred but not required.
• Food hygiene and safety training would be advantageous, but also not required.

• Comfortable with scheduling, ordering, and POS systems.
• Interested in craft or expressing creativity (ideal but not essential).
• Able to remain calm and efficient under pressure in a busy retail and café setting.
• Committed to delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining high operational standards.
• Able to drive sales and think creatively about how we shape events and drive footfall to store.
